Prayer at Closing…O Lord, our righteousness and daily life, as we live in a hostile world and as we battle daily against our own sinful flesh bring to bear in us the armor and sword of Your holy Word that we may stand against all the assaults of our enemies in the assurance of faith; though Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Savior. Amen.


Prayer at Closing…Gracious Savior, bring the comfort of Your holy word through the Gospel of salvation to bear in our daily lives. Dispel the fears caused by both the certain and uncertain things of life that we face daily, that trusting in Your grace with the vigor of faith, our lives may sing in holy witness to Your goodness to us sinners. Pastor Bob Tasler…Will be here on August 1st to lead our worship service. Pastor Tasler is celebrating his 50th anniversary of his ordination. He was ordained here at LCOOS on May 30, 1971.

LWML Meeting…Will be on August 5 at 6:00 P.M.  We will be having a pot luck meal in the fellowship hall.  Everyone should bring a dish to pass.  Beverages will be provided.

Vacation Bible School… Will be held August 15-19th. Theme is “God’s Wonder Lab”. Supper 5:15; VBS 6:00-8:30. Please fill out a registration sheet and place in the gold bag provided. Registrations sheets can be found in the upper narthex. Contact Laura Alvstad at 831-2365 with any questions

Wednesday Evening Worship… If you feel more comfortable with a smaller group of congregational members or are gone on the weekends, please join us for our Wednesday evening worship service at 6:30 pm. NO Wednesday Evening WorshipOn August 4th.

Faith in Action Sharing  Center… The Sharing Center continues to need spring & summer clothing, personal care items, bedding, towels, paper products, non-perishable food, baby food & baby toiletries and monetary donations. Items you wish to donate may be delivered to the lower narthex cart or may now be picked up from your home by calling Larry Salzwedel (#831-0008) or Jim Vellema (#822-1226). Make checks payable to Faith in Action and given to Ruby Wilson, our Committee Treasurer.  Also, if you need help around your home, call Larry or Jim.

Lutheran Hour … July 25 “The Peace Child” Speaker: Rev. Dr. Michael Zeigler. A story about warring tribes and the peace which comes only through the giving of a son. (Ephesians 3). Saturday Men’s Bible Breakfast… Will meet on Saturday, July 31st at 8:00 am.

Hy-Vee Receipts…We will be collecting the Hy-Vee receipts from now on, instead of the labels. We would like to have the member highlight the Hy-Vee products on the receipt and tally up the number of items on the receipt and write that number on the bottom of the receipt. The label container that was located by the Sonshine room will be relocated to the lower narthex.

Lutherans for Life… July 25 “We need to keep fueled up through Christian fellowship in worship and in the sacraments. We need to pray without ceasing and receive the peace in that special relationship with God. And then, we need to stand strong and boldly declare God’s plan for life. We can’t be timid, afraid to speak up or be noticed. If we don’t share the truth, who will?” Virginia Flo, Regional Director of Minnesota and National Conference Director.
